  MANDUKASANA/FROG POSE

       Mandukasana is also called as frog pose. The name comes from the sanskrit manduka means "a frog". Mandukasana or frog pose is an excellent exercise to reduce acidity, burning belly fat and for strengthening thigh muscles. It is one of the important yoga poses for massaging abdominal organs.

   Steps of Mandukasana

  • Sit in Vajrasana.
  • Make fists with both hands, the thumbs inside.
  • Inhale deeply.
  • Put the fists at the naval region.
  • Exhale & bend forward and put maximum pressure on the naval area.
  • Your chest should touch your thigh.
  • Hold your breath for a few seconds and come up with inhalation.
  • Repeat this pose for 3-4 times.

  • Not to be practiced when in full stomach, a good four hours of gap between the meals and the practice of this pose should be given.
  • Pregnant women should completely avoid this pose.
  • Those who have knee pain, backache, ankle injury, and migraine shouldn't perform it.
  • It shouldn't be practiced who has peptic ulcer.
  • Any kind of surgery undertaken around the abdomen will make this pose uncomfortable.
